Orkney International Science Festival 2022

‘Bringing the Light Back

The Orkney International Science Festival is on again! This year, there is a mixture of both in-person events as well as virtual events and exhibitions. Once again, the Orkney Camera Club is participating via an online exhibition centred on the theme of ‘Bringing the Light Back’. This year, the theme carries a message of hope.

The above photo comes from the Orkney Christmas Tractor Run which was held in Kirkwall, in December of 2021. It was to raise money for two local charities, CLAN Orkney and Kirkwall MS Therapy Centre. It raised over £50,000 and if you wish to read more about it, you can do so here: https://www.orcadian.co.uk/tractor-run-donations-continue-to-rise-as-deadline-nears/

I hope you enjoy!

Orkney International Science Festival

So this is a month late but better late than never!

I was fortunate enough to be able to participate in the Orkney Camera Club’s online exhibition for the Orkney International Science Festival. It highlights various islands across Orkney. “Around the Islands” is a wonderful collection of works that you can view from the comfort (and warmth!) of your own home or on the go via the virtual gallery.

You can find it by visiting the festival’s website and going to to the “Exhibitions” page under the “What’s On” tab. You can also find it by clicking this link here: https://oisf.org/portfolio-items/around-the-islands/?portfolioCats=191
